United Contractor Services is a growing national commercial specialty contractor. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to serve as our Branch Manager for our clients in the Austin Texas and surrounding markets. Qualified candidates will possess experience directing the construction of multiple projects, which will include both the new construction and the renovation of office spaces, retail, hospitality, multi-family, restaurants, industrial and healthcare.

The Branch Manager oversees all construction staff, materials and logistics, equipment, procurement and management of subcontractors, and management of special projects that may arise through partnerships. This position works directly with and reports to the President and/or Executive Vice President, working in conjunction to grow all Divisions of the company.

  • Develop a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of projects following a logical pattern
  • Attend pre-construction meetings, becomes the liaison between client and company, sale our brand and services to our clientele and potential clients.
  • Create and/or collaborate on RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, Bid Analysis, Unit Cost Development, and Production rate tracking
  • Adhere to construction schedule and budget to achieve completion of project within time and monies allocated, requesting any accounting reports as needed
  • Communicate to client regarding potential changes
  • Address quality and customer satisfaction issues as needed
  • Anticipate problems and plan potential solutions in a proactive manner to minimize errors
  • Assist and track submittals, RFIs, etc. to ensure projects are administered successfully and in a timely manner
  • Assist with information required to complete SOV and/or invoicing
  • Develop and implement procedures and systems that help reduce costs and improve efficiency at the field level
  • Ensure crews are provided with the manpower, materials, tools and equipment necessary to complete assigned jobs successfully
  • Ensure that field staff consistently follow and comply with policies and procedures
  • Find ways to maintain motivation of work crews
  • Determine vendor list and material pricing, ensuring that all A/P invoices are coded/costed properly
  • Perform regular job inspections to ensure work is progressing according to schedule and scope of work. Take pictures and document progress and issues identified through visits
  • Identify the need for and create change quotes, pricing for jobs
  • Utilize construction management software on iPad and keep updated to sync with all superintendent iPads
  • Perform regular job walks
  • Check job costs regularly


Minimum 8 years (or equivalent experience) in Construction Management with increasing levels of responsibility

  • Team player with excellent personnel management skills and capacity to build a strong office with departmental teams
  • Strong communications skills to work across departments and with various levels of management
  • Proven ability to manage a high-production construction schedule with multiple deadlines, in-house and outside resources and interdepartmental coordination
  • Experience in negotiating and managing subcontracts
  • Experience in working with plan documents, On-Screen Takeoff and Quick-Bid estimating system, some design experience helpful
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills, including the ability to anticipate tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines, and function smoothly under strict deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Ability to think strategically and to envision and balance “big-picture” priorities
  • Computer literacy with demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Project (Word, Excel), Plan grid, smart-bid, iSq-ft (preferred) and Internet savvy individual is required
